Any hoodle....Robb and I picked out the modern, yet timeless pattern from Mikasa.
It's called Parchment (for any of you ladies looking for something pratical and affordable). We got the whole set, plus some great additional pieces as gifts. I love it...problem was...we had no where to display or store it.
So for the last year and a half it's been in the original box in our basement. Until my stalking on craigslist.com scored me a beautiful little china cabinet. I promised myself I wasn't going to spend much...and I didn't...just $75! Sorry Mom Wilson...I know you are saving your dining room set for us when you can finally move back home...but I can easily move this into our kitchen...so don't fret!!
A little Murphy's Oil Soap and wal-la!
I was thinking of painting it, but on further investigation I don't think I will. I was talking to my grandma (not the previous owner of the china my Mom's holding hostage) and she told me about a great product. Now Grandma Ollie knows a thing or two about paint, stain, wallpaper, what shirt goes best with which pants...she's pretty spectacular! Instead of paint, she told me about "Rejuvenate". It's this great product that cleans away the gunk on wood and leaves it all polishy and beautiful. Case in point...she used this on her kitchen cabinets...which have seen about 25 years of some good cookin' and they look like brand new oak cabinets.
I believe this is exactly what my little gem needs...Lowe's here I come. I'll give you all an after picture when I'm done!
TTFN!
Jennifer
